The Cross-Brace Round Table brings a little craft to the taproom floor. The round top is laid in segments of warm, honey-toned timber veneer that meet at the centre in a sunburst, with a deep edge band; underneath, a black steel frame of four flat legs braced by a cross at mid-height holds it rock-steady.
The cross brace is the practical detail. Four-leg frames resist tipping better than any pedestal of the same footprint, and the mid-height cross locks the legs so they can't splay when the table is dragged across a concrete floor. The flat steel legs sit near the top's edge, so the table stays level even when three guests lean on it at once.
At about 32 in (81 cm) across it seats two comfortably and four for drinks. It is a natural table for the lounge corner of a taproom, beside a booth, or in a covered patio area.
The veneer is sealed in commercial lacquer that resists beer rings; the steel is powder coated, and the feet carry glides so they won't scrape polished concrete.
